I like the song as well but I cannot imagine that people will remember my voice rather than my name. More on this later.
Unlike Shakespeare 'a rose by any other name...' , I believe that a name is very important. Its whats used to recognise you as a person. Its almost the same as the name of a colour or a fruit for that matter. You wouldnt call a yellow coloured thing, red would you? Similarly you wouldnt call an apple a pear. Also in today's world most corporations spend billions trying to differentiate their product from another by virtue of just a brand name. Also living in a foreign land I think it has become very important for me to protect anything Indian so I can feel closer to home. I specially dislike people changing their names after coming over. Thats a rant for another time and place.
Coming back to my name or my voice - Haan Lata Mangeshkar hota toh zaroor awaaz ke liye yaad kiya jaata. But considering my existence, I'll be happy if people remembered my name.
